The "40 Under 40" awards luncheon, which recognized 49 young professionals in the Volusia/Flagler area for their accomplishments both professionally as well as in the community, drew 200 people. The number of honorees wound up being higher than originally planned because of the overwhelming volume of nominations received from readers and staff and the number of outstanding candidates.
